Venue:  Moorways Sports Village & Water Park, Moor lane Allenton Derby (De249HY) 

Timings: 9:00-12:30

On Tuesday  4th June we will be working in partnership with EveryoneActive & Derby Excel to hold our second Schools Swimming Gala at Moorways Sports Village and Water Park.

 This is an ACHIEVE event for competent  Y5/6 Pupils and a INSPIRE event for Y4 Pupils. All pupils must be swimming at at least stage 4 to take part in this event.

The event will be split into two halves the first half Y5/6 Pupils will compete in a competitive swimming gala against other schools while Y4 pupils take part in a inspire classroom session lead by Derby Excel. Within this session they will get to discuss swimming pathways, have a look at some swimming medals and take part in some swimming activities. Then Y4 Pupils will head to the pool for a inspire swimming session lead by qualified swim instructors from Derby Excel while Y5&6 Pupils take part in the classroom based activities.

Students per Team: 23 in a Team.

3 x Year 4 Boys.

Event Format: 

The event will include a mixture of single races and relay races. Children will NEED to wear a swimming hat and goggles in order to compete. Running order for the event will be sent by DCCT on confirmation of your attendance.

This is an ACHIEVE Competition, students will be competing against other schools and should be prepared in advance with which stokes and races they are competing in.

Parental Information 

Parents are able to spectate during the event but must stay in the designated viewing area in the balcony seating or café area.

The café will be open for refreshments for spectators.

Swim hats and goggles are available to purchase from Moorways Sports Village and Water Park.

Parking  

Parking is available at the venue and is free of charge for 3 hours, anyone using the car park needs to input their car registration into one of the tablets in reception.

*Permits are available for school vehicles who will be staying longer than 3 hours to ensure free car parking.
