Volunteer's Week: Celebrating those who make a difference
Derby County Community Trust are focussing on the amazing contributions volunteers make in our communities.
Running from Monday 3rd June to Sunday 9th June, Volunteer's week is a chance to recognise, celebrate and thank those that support our programmes and projects and ensure the smooth running of them all.
We have many volunteers across Derby County Community Trust, who either help keep things ticking over at Community Corner, or support coaching sessions throughout the week. From Extra-time Hub to PL Kicks. From the Health team, to the Education department. Things just wouldn't be the same without our volunteers.
Every department within the Trust has been asked to put forward one particular volunteer, who has shown a real commitment and best reflects the DCCT values.
Throughout the week, this page will be updated (see below) with each department's nominee, where you can find out more about them, the work they do and why they have been put forward.
MATCH DAY TEAM: Taking PRIDE IN THEIR WORK
Throughout the 2023/24 season, out match day volunteers have ensured fans get the best experience possible at Pride Park. They have been fundamental in the success of the match day draw, which raises money for future projects and programmes, each season.
ADE froM THE HEALTH TEAM: CARING IN HIS APPROACH
Always putting others first, Ade has been a massive help for the Health team. You can find him refereeing matches for our Active Choices participants, or offering advice and support to those who need it. Ade is a great listener and has great story for Volunteer's Week.
Leo from the inclusion team: creating meaningful experiences
Making sure ever participant leaves sessions with a smile, Leo has made an impact in a short amount of time as a volunteer. From assisting staff, to ensuring equipment is readily available, he is one committed individual.
JAMES FROM EDUCATION: EFFECTIVELY FULFILLING POTENTIAL
Watching others thrive is what motivates James, who has been a key asset to the education team at the Trust. Helping others grow only pushed him on to support even more.
PIB INSURANCE: COLLABORATIVE IN PARTNERSHIPS
A Trust Partner that gets who we are, what we do and why we do it. PIB have been great to partner with, who champions everything we do as a trust. As well as financial support, they get involved in our projects and programmes and see first-hand the impact it can have.
LEWIS FROM INCLUSION: VALUED BY OUR COMMUNITY
Feeling welcomed, appreciated and accepted. That's how Lewis wants all of our participants to feel every week. Despite his own learning difficulties, he has proven to be a confident and bright volunteer.
