Derby County Community Trust hosted it’s RTC  and Football and Education awards evening on 22nd May. The evening, hosted by Nick Britten Chair of Derby County Women and Derby County Community Trust Trustee, provided the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of all our teams, including the RTC Under 12s and Football and Education sides who won their respective leagues.

Each player received a medal for their efforts with their being special awards handed for Sponsor’s Player, Players’ Player, and Player of the Season. Sponsor’s player was chosen for the player who had best demonstrated the Trust Values, while Player of the Season was chosen by coaches for a wide range of reasons including attitude, performance and supporting the team.

Sophie Tudor, Female Football Lead at Derby County Community Trust said: “It’s fantastic to not only be able to bring all our teams together in one room but also be able to celebrate their success. They’ve all worked so hard this season and it’s important that we recognise that as coaches and players.

“Having all our teams from under 11s through to under 19s shows a clear pathway for the girls to progress and makes for an exciting time in girls and women’s football in Derby, especially now as we integrate with Derby County Women.

“I’d also like to take the chance to thank all the sponsors, without your help and support we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. It means a lot to the coaches and all the players.”
