Moor Farm hosts our EFL Kids Cup Final
After a number of qualifying rounds, featuring primary schools across Derbyshire, the final of the Utilita EFL Kids Cup arrived at Moor Farm, with Cavendish Close Junior Academy going all the way to lift the trophy.
The tournament saw over a hundred young compete to earn the right to represent Derby County Football Club at the upcoming regional round.
Cavendish Close won their qualifying round and booked their place in the regional round with a close battle at the Derby County training facilities. Just one point and one goal seperated them from 2nd place.
Derby County player and Academy coach Bradley Johnson joined the team, where he handed out certificates to all players and presented the winners with their trophy.
Jack Southwart, PE and Schools Lead, who organised and ran the tournament said: “well done to all the teams involved. There was great football played by everyone and that is shown close the final standings were.
It's always nice to round off our biggest football competition with a celebration for the young players and for the club to be represented at the final.
Having the community and primary students playing at Moor Farm is great to see, and a very early memory for them in the sport they love''.
