Derby County A Book Their Place In The CEFA Cup Final
Derby County ‘A’ fired their way to the EFL CEFA Cup final with a 5-0 win over Fleetwood Town.
Derby took the lead in the opening 10 minutes and controlled proceedings from then on in as they doubled their lead on 19 minutes. Just three minutes later they made it 3-0 with another good team goal.
After Fleetwood had a couple of crosses into the Derby box that were comfortably dealt with, the hosts struck the frame of the goal as they continued to look the more likely to score. In the dying moments of the half Derby went close again but were denied by the outstretched boot of the visiting ‘keeper.
Derby scored early in the second half but it was quickly ruled out for offside as they started on the front foot. The pressure did result in a fourth goal just minutes later thanks to a second own goal of the game after a good move down the left. On 69 minutes the result was complete as Derby added a deserved fifth after some good skill on the edge of the area.
Elsewhere Derby County B (Women) were 3-2 winners against Manchester City and Derby County B were beaten 2-1 by Stoke City in a tight contest.
