Player Development Centre / Emerging Talent Centre

Growing the game, nurturing talent

The Player Development Centre (PDC) is a key part of our Female Player Pathway, providing a clear and structured route for girls aged 5 through to Post-16 football.

With more than 250 players attending weekly, the PDC offers an additional training opportunity alongside players’ grassroots club commitments. Sessions are delivered in 15-week blocks, with regular trial opportunities held throughout the year for new players looking to join the programme.

The PDC is delivered across two venues:

  • Derby Football Hub at the Racecourse – U8 to U13 age groups
  • Friesland School – U8 to U16 age groups

The cost of the PDC is £60 per 15-week block, equating to just £4 per session.

emerging talent centre (ETC)

The Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) represents the next stage within our Female Player Pathway and provides enhanced development opportunities for players demonstrating exceptional potential.

Over the past three seasons, 104 players have progressed from the ETC into Female Talent Pathway teams, highlighting the programme’s success in supporting player development and progression.

Selection for the ETC is by invitation only. Players must first be part of the PDC, with the highest-performing players identified and invited to join the ETC programme. There is no additional cost to participate in the ETC.

Our ETC squads operate at U10, U12, U14 and U16.

Players can continue to train and play for their existing grassroots clubs alongside both the PDC and ETC programmes.
