Optimising Life Chances

Our programmes are designed to raise aspirations, build resilience, and positively influence future prospects.

Derby and Derbyshire face significant challenges when it comes to health, education, and opportunity. In some areas, life expectancy falls below the national average. In others, young people are more likely to experience poor mental health, unemployment, or social isolation.

At Derby County Community Trust, we use the power of sport and the pride of Derby County Football Club to engage with those most at risk of being left behind.

Our work spans the entire county, reaching individuals and communities who need it most. Whether it’s a young person struggling in school, an adult facing addiction, or someone simply looking for connection, we’re here to help.

We deliver:

  • Premier League funded programmes in areas of high deprivation, offering a mixture of free football, mentoring and workshops to develop key life skills.
  • Health and Wellbeing programmes for clients recovering from alcohol and substance misuse.
  • Education and Employability programmes through Derby County Community Trust college, including our post-16 and degree courses.
