Our Grads in Kenya trip returned to Nakuru for the first time since 2019. The participants were made up of graduates from previous NCS programmes and spent a week supporting our partner schools, building on the work of our Rams In Kenya trip from earlier in the year.
The 20-young-people spent time across two schools, Jubilee and Chaddy Mission, building a new sensory space, replacing classroom roofs, and clearing playground space. They also supported lessons at the schools, went on home visits and cooked a meal for the children. Away from the schools the group visited Thomson Falls, the equator, the Dumpsite and Nakuru National Park.
Emma Pilgrim, Events and Projects Manager, said: “It was a fantastic experience that I am sure will stick with the young people for the rest of their lives. I am so proud of them for all the hard work they put in whilst they were there and how they all got involved throughout the trip and helped us make a positive impact on the two schools we worked with.”
