Safeguarding

Report a concern

The Board of Trustees at Derby County Community Trust, the Chief Executive Officer and all Trust staff seek to create a safe, secure culture enabling all vulnerable groups to participate in a broad spectrum of activities and facilities.

The Trust will always seek to provide protection to any person that receives our services. The Trust provide staff and volunteers with guidance and procedures they should adopt if they suspect a person may be experiencing or be at risk of harm. The Trust believes that no one should ever experience abuse of any kind. The Trust have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children, young people, and adults at risk to keep them safe. The Trust are committed to work in a way that protects them.

In developing our safeguarding policies and procedures, we have adopted the following three-part safeguarding strategy, which focuses on the following:

1. Getting the right people involved with DCCT

This is achieved through adherence to DCCT’S Safer Recruitment Policies and Procedures

2. Creating a safe environment for children, young people, and adults at risk

This is achieved by providing all required safeguarding training, support, and best practice advice; and further guidance by the effective communication of DCCT’s Code of Conduct.

3. Promoting clear systems to deal with any safeguarding concerns

This is achieved through implementation of all DCCT’s policies and procedures relating to safeguarding.

WHISTLEBLOWING

Whistleblowing in a safeguarding context means revealing and raising concerns over misconduct or malpractice within an organisation, or within an independent structure associated with it.

Whistleblowing can be used as an early-warning system or when it is recognised that appropriate actions have not been taken. This approach or policy is adopted in many different walks of life.

Any adult or young person with concerns about a colleague’s conduct towards a child or young person can also use whistleblowing by calling 0800 169 1863 and asking for The FA’s safeguarding team, or via email to: safeguarding@TheFA.com.

If you are worried about the immediate safety or welfare of a child or vulnerable adult you can also report concerns to the following organisations:
