The Movement helps children and young people in Derby to lead happy, healthy and active lifestyles.

The Movement is a partnership between Derby County Community Trust and Derby City Council which helps young people be healthy and active.  It is part of the Livewell service which supports people in Derby to lose weight, stop smoking, enjoy a healthy pregnancy and help their children maintain a healthy weight.  It offers these programmes:

Live IT

A child weight management service for children aged 5 to 17 years with a BMI of 85 or over, registered to a Derby city GP practice. A parent/carer must support their child through the 12-month programme, which offers fun activities, healthy eating workshops, one-to-one and group support. Parents/carers can apply to join at The Movement website here

Kick IT

A friendly, supportive and confidential stop smoking service for young people aged 12 to 17 years. Young people can find out more at The Movement website here

Move IT

Move It is the perfect programme for 14-17 year olds looking to get fitter, stronger and tone up whilst supercharging their confidence! Find out more here

Eat IT

The Movement offers young people ways to boost their five-a-day and eat more healthily through its dedicated Eat IT web page. It also partners with Change4Life link to to provide practical resources for families on the Live IT programme.
