Derby County Community Trust’s deliver a range of health programmes in partnership with key partners including Macmillan Cancer Support, Livewell, 32Red and Derbyshire County Council.

The projects aim to help people of all ages across the city of Derby to get fitter, lose weight, drink sensibly and improve their overall health and wellbeing.

Football Membership

Derby County Community Trust want you to join our team! Our new football membership encompasses all the football sessions we offer, including Monday Football Training, Wednesday 7-a-side League, Monday and Friday Walking Football. Unlimited football for a monthly fee.

Active Minds

Whether you’re feeling a little anxious about getting into exercise, you’ve had a break from it, you feel too unfit to get started, or perhaps you’ve been wanting to get fit for a while but just unsure about the best way to do it – our programme is designed to support you to safely make the first step.

Wellbeing For All

Team Talk

Team Talk is a new men’s mental health initiative designed to get men talking about their state of mind in relaxed, weekly sessions. Running from 6-8pm every Monday at the Community Trust office, 14 Pride Point Drive, the idea was brought to life by a Derby County employee, Sean Hedley, who has experienced his own difficulties with mental health, and the dedicated staff at the Trust.

Everybody Active

Join Derby County Community Trust’s fitness membership! We have created a bigger and better programme aiming to get Everybody Active! The programme is now live and offering YOU a chance to access classes and group activities across Derby for under £1 per week.

Active Recovery

Active Recovery is a cancer exercise and rehabilitation programme which working with anyone who has been recovering from or living with cancer within the last five years.

Active Schools

Active Schools is a pioneering programme that tackles lifelong inactivity by inspiring the whole school community to be more physically active. By empowering teachers and inspiring children, the programme addresses the growing issue of today’s children who are expected to die five years before their parents.

Young People

The Movement is a partnership between Derby County Community Trust and Derby City Council which helps young people be healthy and active. It is part of the Council's new, free Livewell service which supports people in Derby to lose weight, stop smoking, enjoy a healthy pregnancy and help their children maintain a healthy weight.

Forever Active

Forever Active is a six-month research-based programme aimed at people who are 65 years and older and are at risk of falls. The programme, which is delivered in partnership with Derby City Council and Nottingham University, offers a range of physical activity sessions to improve the fitness, stability and muscle strength of older people. In addition, the programme aims to reduce the isolation of older people, by delivering as part of the programme an informal social group where older people can meet new people and experience new opportunities.

Active Choices

Active Choices is a healthy lifestyle and behavioural change programme which helps people in drug treatment services stay drug-free. It was set up by Derby County Community Trust, Derby City Council, NHS Derby City and Phoenix Futures in June 2011. It has helped 115 people with drug and alcohol problems to turn their lives around, which has given them the opportunity to receive one-to-one support and take part in worthwhile activities at a critical point in their recovery.

Fit Fans

Over two thirds of men are currently overweight or obese. And being overweight is a key risk factor for type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and some cancers – all major killers. We’re here to help you lose weight, get fitter and minimise your risks so you can keep up with the kids without getting out of breath.
