Rams Family Support at Harrison’s Hub: January to March 2023

Harrison's Hub

As winter continues, Derby County Community Trust have shared details about upcoming activity in Harrison’s Hub at the Community Corner, which will be accessible as part of Derby City Council’s ‘Warm Spaces’ initiative and backed by funds raised through the 1884 Wall.

From the week commencing 9th January, the following sessions will be running as part of the Rams Family Support project:

Tuesdays, 10.00am-4.00pm - weekly

Communi-tea

Open access sessions each Tuesday, with hot drinks and snacks. No payment needed, but donations accepted on a ‘pay what you can basis’.

Tuesdays, 7.00-9.00pm – bi-weekly (starting 24th January)

Hub not a Pub
A social space to have a hot drink and a chat, play games and take part in quizzes, along with ‘hub grub’ on chosen dates! Sports matches may also be shown in an inclusive, alcohol free environment.

Thursdays, 11.00am-2.00pm - weekly

Food Donation Hub

We accept donations every Thursday on behalf of the Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance. Donations should be tinned and dried goods only which will then be distributed across the city’s food back network.

Thursdays, 4.00pm-7.00pm – weekly (referral only – more details below)

Community Meals

Every week we provide a hot meal to community members in a warm and welcome space. This includes working with Derby Food 4 Thought Alliance, schools and other community organisations.

To register your interest in attending one of our community meals, please click herePlease note, most meals will be delivered in partnership with other charities and schools, so the dates open to register general interest are currently January 12th, February 7th and March 7th.

These community meals are being funded through proceeds from the 1884 Wall, where you can purchase your space to support the initiative until January 9th 2023.

These sessions will join Derby County Community Trust’s existing sessions which are taking place in Harrison’s Hub, which range from Team Talk – their men’s mental health programme, to Extra Time Hub, their over 55s social coffee mornings.

The Rams Family Support project also incorporates the Rams Family Fund, which has distributed almost 2,000 match tickets to fans who would be otherwise unable to attend games since last year. The next Family Fund fixture is the Charlton Athletic game, taking place on 18th February. Donations to and applications for the fund can be made here.

Harrison’s Hub will also be hosting Writing East Midlands’ ‘We. Are. Derby’ open sessions throughout January and February. The project is aiming to seeking out, explore and celebrate the stories and memories which give Derby County Football Club its proud identity, and rich history. Find out more and book on to their sessions here.
