NCS Changemakers support local care home

NCS Changemakers

Our NCS Changemakers visited a local care home over the weekend to help transform the outdoor area for the residents.

The team worked hard redecorating, planting, and restoring parts of the area to provide the residents with a safe space that they can enjoy all year round.

Events and Projects Manager at the Trust Emma Pilgrim said: “Helping transform the space for the residents is a great cause and one I am glad we were a part of.

"I am looking forward to continuing to support the care home and others in the future in any way we can.

“Days like Saturday show the good that our volunteers can do, and I am proud of all their hard work, not just on this particular project but on the others that we have done this year.”

Jo Graves, Home Manager, Sherwood Forest Nursing Home – Sanctuary Care said: "Thank you to all of the volunteer’s form DCCT , you have contributed to making the home for our residents nicer by doing lots of work in the garden.

"The residents and their families will truly benefit from your work and kindness.”

The work formed part of the Changemakers programme that sees young people aged 15-17 support the local community through a variety of projects and fundraising each month.
