The Summer holidays have been a great success for the Derby County Community Trust. Our holiday coaching courses ran across the county over the past 6 weeks with over 600 children in attendance.

Courses took place across the county and aimed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for primary aged children to practice their skills, take part in tournaments, make new friends and have fun whilst benefiting from coaching from our highly skilled coaching team.

A highlight of the summer coaching was at Ripley Leisure Centre and Belper Leisure Centre which saw first team players Bradley Johnson, Craig Bryson and Richard Keogh attend sessions and help the kids to hone their skills.

One parent said:

“It’s great to see the players at the holiday courses getting the children motivated and taking part. My boys loved every second of it and enjoyed seeing them, they are always excited to meet them and get a photo!”

Derby County Player, Bradley Johnson added:

“It’s always good to get out into the community. The kids are on their holidays and it’s a great opportunity for them to come and play some football.”

“I used to love going to coaching courses when I was a kid. Seeing my idols at them would make my day so I know the feeling for the kids and we’re always happy to come to sessions and hopefully put a smile on their faces.”

Following the summer success, Derby County Community Trust Participation Manager, Rich Mansfield said

“We’re absolutely delighted with how well our Summer Holiday Coaching has gone. The main aim is to give children an outlet to get active and enjoy football whilst they are off school and the past 6 weeks has certainly done that.”
